VIDEO: 3 men accused of impersonating NYPD, then tasing, robbing man, 71, in Harlem

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police released surveillance footage on Friday of three men wanted for impersonating NYPD officials during a robbery in Harlem.

The incident occurred at 8 p.m. on March 8 inside a residential building near East 116 Street and Fifth Avenue. 

Authorities say one suspect distracted the security guard in the lobby while the other two masked suspects gained entrance into the building.

Once inside, the two suspects entered the apartment of a 71-year-old man, produced a firearm and identified themselves as police.

The suspects restrained the victim with zip ties and a belt and used a taser on him multiple times, police said.

Officials said the men removed the victim's NewYork Yankees ring valued at $1,800, a watch valued at $1,100 and $5,000 cash.

The unidentified men fled in an unknown direction. 

Officials say the first suspect was wearing a blue jacket and a brown cap.

The second suspect was wearing dark-color clothing, a hat, backpack and a mask.

The third man was wearing dark-color clothing, a hat and a mask, according to police.
