NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Three men were killed and several other people were wounded in overnight shootings in New York City, police said Sunday.

The first deadly shooting was around 8:45 p.m. Saturday near East 165 Street and Prospect Avenue in the Morrisania section of the Bronx.

Police said 36-year old Curtis Holley was shot in the abdomen and taken to Lincoln Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

According to the Daily News, Holley had gotten into an argument with three men after he flicked a cigarette in their direction as he was walking with his wife. One of the men then reportedly shot him.

Then around 3:30 a.m. Sunday, 23-year-old Madgey Saleh was shot and killed on 40th Avenue near the Queensbridge Houses in Long Island City, police said.

Saleh was found shot in the abdomen and rushed to Cornell Hospital, where he was also pronounced dead.

A 25-year-old man, identified as Jonathan Distant, was shot and killed on 183 Street in Brookville, Queens, around 4:30 a.m.

Police said Distant was shot in the lower back and was pronounced dead at Jamaica Hospital.

No arrests have been made in the deadly shootings.

Several other people were shot and wounded early Sunday, including a 22-year-old man and a 24-year-old man who were shot around 1 a.m. near Corona Avenue and 90th Street in Elmhurst, Queens, the New York Post reported.

Two other men, ages 48 and 51, were shot and wounded on University Avenue in the Morris Heights section of the Bronx around 4 a.m.

A 29-year-old man was also wounded in a shooting on West 137th Street in Harlem around 4:30 a.m.

All of those victims are expected to survive their injuries.

According to the Post, more than 50 people were injured in at least 38 shootings over the past week, well above the 16 shootings during the same period last year.
