NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Red Cross teams are at the scene of a five-alarm fire in Cypress Hills that displaced about 20 residents and hurt four people Saturday.

The fire broke out at 2681 Atlantic Ave. around 10 a.m., forcing the evacuation of two buildings.

Stacy Aviles told 1010 WINS: “First I smelled something funny. Then I heard like a rumble, so I thought they were like working, knocking down something. But I was watching TV and when I look to my left I saw smoke coming out of my bathroom.”

One resident and three firefighters suffered minor injuries in the blaze.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
