3 children struck by vehicle on LI, 1 victim critical

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Sufolk County Police say three children ages ranging from 9 to 13 years old were hit by a vehicle in Long Island Wednesday morning, 

Police say that a 9-year-old, a 13-year-old and their 12-year old cousin were struck at the corner of Sunrise Highway and Straight Path in Lindenhurst just before 4 a.m.

The victims left a home located on 32nd Street in Copiague in order to go to 7-Eleven.

All three were transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip officials say.

The 9-year-old is reported to be in serious condition, 13-year-old remains in critical condition, and the 12-year-old in stable condition.

It was also unclear whether the children were alone or accompanied by an adult.

At this time, the incident appears to be non-criminal.
