Our very first episode of Brigitte Quinn’s 22 Minutes With… features Jane Lynch, star of the new CBS-TV series Angel From Hell, a comedy about Amy, a colorful, brassy woman who insinuates herself into the life of an organized and seemingly perfect young woman, Allison, claiming to be her “guardian angel.” The show can be seen locally on CBS2 Thursdays at 9:30 p.m.

In this debut episode of “22 Minutes With,” Lynch talked about her new show, how she and her new co-star crushed their “chemistry read,” and how “Glee” changed her life.

BQ: What kind of angel is Amy?

JL: Well, Amy is not like Roma Downey or Michael Landon in their shows. Amy loves being a human being but more than that she loves Allison, who is played by Maggie Lawson. And she wants to do everything she can to make sure that Maggie’s life — Allison’s life — is fantastic and awesome and stretches her beyond her boundaries. Right now she’s in a position where she’s painted herself into a corner and I want to rattle her cage and get her out of there so she has a terrific life.

BQ: A cameos is coming up (Joey McIntyre). Is this going to be one of these shows where we can expect big-name cameos here and there?

JL: No it’s not. It’s an ensemble. This is what I love about it. It’s the four of us for the most part with guest stars here and there — great guest stars. But no we’re not doing stunt casting.

Lynch’s film credits include “A.C.O.D.,” “The Three Stooges,” “Wreck-It Ralph,” “Julie & Julia,” “Shrek Forever After,” “Post Grad,” “For Your Consideration,” “A Mighty Wind,” “Best In Show,” “Role Models,” “The Rocker,” “Spring Breakdown,” “Space Chimps,” “Alvin and the Chipmunks,” “Walk Hard,” “Talladega Nights,” “The 40-Year-Old Virgin,” “Bam Bam and Celeste” and “Suffering Man’s Charity,” among others.

Born in Evergreen Park, Ill. and raised in Dolton, Ill., Lynch currently resides in Los Angeles.
