2 pedestrians injured, 1 seriously, in Long Island hit-and-run

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Suffolk County Police detectives are investigating a hit-and-run crash that injured two female pedestrians, one seriously, in North Lindenhurst Tuesday night.

Officers responded to a report of a hit and run at Sunrise Highway and North Delaware Avenue at 11:55 p.m.

Two twenty-year-old women were walking from the north side of Sunrise Highway to the south side, when police say they were struck by an unknown vehicle traveling westbound.

The driver then fled the scene, officials say.

Both victims were transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center for treatment, one with serious injuries, and the other with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
