2 people inside Brooklyn barbershop shot, gunman sought by NYPD

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- An investigation is underway after a shooting in Brooklyn left two people injured Wednesday night officials say.

Police say a fight broke out at approximately 8:25 p.m. inside am East New York deli at Pitkin and Montauk Avenues.

The fight then spilled out into the streets and shots rang, officials say.

Authorities say that two people who were in the Trini International Barbershop a few doors down the block were struck.

A 32-year-old man was shot in the left arm and a 25-year-old woman was shot in the back.

Both victims were taken to Brookdale Hospital are expected to survive.

Authorities believe at least one victim was an innocent bystander.

Officials are searching for the gunman.

Police describe a light-skinned Hispanic male with short hair seen fleeing the scene on foot, running south on Montauk Avenue.

He was wearing a dark hoodie and Adidas track pants, officials say.
