15 of NYC's public outdoor pools to reopen Aug. 1, city says

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Fifteen of New York City’s public outdoor swimming pools will reopen on Aug. 1, Mayor Bill de Blasio's office said Tuesday.

The following pools will be reopening that day, de Blasio's office said in a release that included details about the 2021 fiscal year budget:

  • Crotona, Mullaly, and Haffen in the Bronx
  • Sunset, Betsy Head, and K-Poo in Brooklyn
  • Hamilton Fish, Jackie Robinson, Wagner, and Marcus Garvey in Manhattan
  • Astoria, Liberty and Fisher in Queens
  • Lyons and Tottenville on Staten Island

New York City has 53 outdoor pools, a Parks Department spokesperson said Tuesday. 

All 53 pools have been closed throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the spokesperson.
