11-year-old boy shot, injured in East Harlem

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- An 11-year-old boy was struck in the leg during a shooting in East Harlem on Sunday, officials said.

The boy was shot near the intersection of Madison Avenue and East 108th Street shortly before 3:30 p.m., according to ABC7.

City Hall press secretary Freddi Goldstein said Mayor de Blasio has been briefed on the shooting.

She said the boy is at Harlem Hospital and is expected to survive.

Sources told 1010 WINS' Samantha Liebman that the boy was not the intended target.
