11-year-old boy, 2 teens killed in reported drag racing crash in Brooklyn

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A boy and two teenagers were killed in a head-on collision in Brooklyn Saturday night that reportedly may have been the result of drag racing.

Two cars collided around 8:20 p.m. near Aviation Road and Flatbush Avenue at Floyd Bennett Field in Marine Park, according to police.

A 2020 Toyota Camry traveling westbound collided with a 2014 Kia Forte that was traveling southbound, police said.

An 11-year-old boy, 16-year-old boy, and 18-year-old woman in the Kia were pronounced dead at Kings County Hospital.

They were later identified as Daniel Sidgiyayeva, 11, Margarita Sidgiyayeva, 18, and Emil Badalov, 16.

A 17-year-old boy in the Kia was taken to NYC Langone Hospital in critical condition.

Three other teens in the Toyota—a 16-year-old girl, a 16-year-old boy, and an 18-year-old man—were taken to Kings County Hospital in stable condition.

Sources told NY1 that drag racing may have been the cause of the crash.

No arrests have been reported. An investigation by the NYPD's Highway Unit Collision Investigation Squad is ongoing.
