Police Arrest 10th Suspect In Deadly Gang Attack Of Teen Outside Bronx Bodega

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/AP) -- A tenth suspect has been arrested in the death of a 15-year-old Bronx boy who was slashed in the neck with a machete outside a bodega.

Police on Tuesday announced the arrest of 26-year-old Gabriel Ramirez Concepcion just hours after charging a ninth suspect in the June 20 death of Lesandro Guzman-Feliz.

Concepcion and 29-year-old Diego Suero are charged with murder, manslaughter and gang assault.

Information on their lawyers wasn't immediately available. No telephone numbers were listed for them.

Guzman-Feliz, known as “Junior,” dreamed of becoming a police officer, and his death shocked the community.

Police say it was a case of mistaken identity and Lesandro was an innocent victim of the Dominican street gang known as the Trinitarios.

On Monday at Lesandro's wake, lines of mourners filed into the Ortiz Funeral Home – some chanting, “Justice for Junior,” or, “No more gun violence."

His mother, Leandra Feliz, was asked how she wanted her son remembered.

“Like he was all the time – a sweet kid; lovely, kind, and good, and with very good heart,” she said.

“My heart is broke, it’s really broke,” said Lesandro’s father, Lissandro Guzman. “Thank you for everybody here.”

His funeral last Wednesday ended with several hundred people chanting “Justice for Junior!” as pallbearers dressed in Yankees jerseys loaded his casket into a hearse.

Police established a scholarship in his honor.
