NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 1-month-old was found safe after allegedly being taken by his father from their home in Queens Wednesday morning.

Authorities say the boy was taken from the Jackson Heights apartment after a domestic dispute between the parents.

The infant's 27-year-old mother stated to police that her 32-year-old boyfriend grabbed her by the neck and began to choke her following a verbal altercation.

She said he then grabbed a kitchen knife causing her to run away and call 911 from a neighbor's apartment.

During that time, the boyfriend allegedly got into a taxi with their son and left.

Police began to search for the father and were able to locate him hours later inside his mother's Fort Greene apartment.

Authorities say that specialized NYPD units began communicating with the father and were able to help talk him out of the apartment with the baby.

The infant was not injured but was taken to the hospital to be checked out and then reunited with his mother WABC 7 reports.

The mother was treated at Elmhurst Hospital for neck bruising.
