The Honda Accord landed in the northbound lanes of the parkway, hitting a Toyota Avalon, police said. Both cars came to rest in the northbound lanes of the parkway, according to police.

The 41-year-old man driving the Toyota Avalon was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition, the NYPD said.

The Honda Accord driver and two of his passengers, a 25-year-old man and a 32-year-old man, were also hospitalized in stable condition, but a third man — who had been sitting in the back seat of the Honda Accord — was pronounced dead, police said.

Police didn’t immediately release the man’s name or age. An investigation is ongoing.
