1 coronavirus patient critical in Nassau County, 40 total confirmed cases; Suffolk declares state of emergency

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Nassau Executive Laura Curran announced on Thursday that the county now has 40 confirmed cases of coronavirus.

And then a few hours later, Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone declared a state of emergency, after the county's number of coronavirus cases reached 16. 

Nassau's Curran specified that there were 31 cases in the town of Hempstead, six in North Hempstead and three in Oyster Bay.

Curran added that one of the cases is in critical condition.
